GROUP CONVERSATIONAL CLASSES
We’ve been having a great time this year with our Group Conversational Classes – thanks to all of you who have been able to participate! As a new experiment in our school, they have gone better than we had imagined. As the pandemic has changed, we’re working to adapt to the changing circumstances you all have. Thank you all for your participation and help with us in navigating these times!
When the pandemic started, we decided to offer our group classes online as part of our effort to build community and as a way to make Spanish learning more accessible! The purpose of these classes is to thread that needle between grammar lesson and pure conversation (even more so than in one of our regular classes, because, as we all are becoming well aware, online classes can be great but they require more conversational dynamics even than a regular class). As such, in all the classes, we will be working with you on your Spanish by using conversation to focus on different grammatical themes each day. You will be grouped according to your level.
We will be offering to Build-a-Group Spanish Classes for those who want to learn more frequently and/or have different availability. Due to previous scheduling we often offer Beginners-Intermediate classes on Tuesday evenings and Intermediate-Advanced on Thursdays but that isn’t necessarily the only day we have groups. We have a list of students searching for a learning partner or more in order to keep studying, so please feel free to check with us to see if we have a group that works.
BUILD-A-GROUP CLASSES:
If you want to have more classes per week, or you have other availability, you can sign up to be put on our Build-a-Group list where we will try to match interested students with similar levels. When you sign up, make sure to included preferred schedules (and time zone!) in your registration form! You can include specifics, like if you are a heritage learner, as we do currently have a class for students who grew up with Spanish in their homes, but never learned proper grammar.
For Build-a-Group classes, we have to ask that students commit to at least 1 month (4 weeks) of study. We will begin classes once we have two students set up for the classes, and will continue to add students with a maximum of 4.
MONTHLY PRICING STRUCTURE:
1 hour a week (4 hours total): $800MXN
2 hours a week (8 hours total): $1600MXN
3 hours a week (12 hours total): $2300MXN
4 hours a week (16 hours total): $3000MXN
If added to an existing class, we can offer a modified but prorated price, that will depend on how many weeks are needed to catch up.
All group classes will have a maximum of 4 students plus the teacher for each class. We will use Zoom as the interface. For students from other parts of the world, we usually calculate the cost into pesos and charge you at that rate. In general, please feel free to ask us questions about any concerns you might have.
